ABC Nature Club

  January 2024 Happy New Year, Nature Lovers! This past October, we had an anniversary party-- That's right, ABC Nature Club celebrated it's first year in the midst of pumpkins and jack'o'lanterns! We held a pumpkin carving contest, with a lot of amazing pumpkin carving artists-- we are grateful for Gabby Peck to decide the winners.  They are:  Best Theme Pumpkin:  Silhouette of a bear from Colette Wiering Most Creative Pumpkin(s): Scary things you don't want to see on your car by Anatole Wiering  Best Photoshoot: A mix of arts on one pumpkin by Olivia Wiering Best Lighting: A Tree from Botanical expert Stella O'Neill  And a Tower of Pisa from Kate Bohanan. Finally, Thank you everyone for carving your pumpkins. We hope to have another fun activity like this one next year.   Flower Scent Contest Hello everyone! June 2023, we had a flower scent contest. Here are the results. 1st place: Wild Lilacs "White and lavender, both sweet like a morning sunrise after the rain" 2nd place:  Apple and crab apple blossoms and Hoya "The crab apple blossoms are light, fruity, airy, exquisite,  and the hoya smells like white chocolate, very sweet, and sugary." 3rd place: Rose "A pop-art rose (left) is like a tea rose but 10x better" -- Anonymous "A hybrid tea rose has a strong fragrant scent" -- Stella O'Neill " Some things have such a good smell that you get sick of it.
